All you need is …

We are in a stressful time right now.  Families are being challenged in ways that none of us have experienced before.  The Word of God will see you through these challenging times, including in your marriage and family relationships.

There’s an awesome section of scripture in Galatians 5.  I have thought for a long time that if married couples would apply this one principle, it would go a long way toward having great relationships.

It is Galatians 5:13 – 14.

“For you, brethren, were indeed called to freedom; only do not let your freedom be an incentive to your flesh and an opportunity or excuse for selfishness, but through love you should serve one another.  For the whole Law concerning human relationships is complied with in the one precept, You shall love your neighbor as you do yourself.” (Amplified Classic Version)

Wow!  Love fulfills the whole law concerning relationships.  That’s big and it’s simple.  I don’t have to remember a 15 step process or 21 ways to make a relationship work.  I just need to remember and practice this one thing.

So, ask yourself, “How can I, through agape love, serve my spouse?  How can I love my spouse as myself?  Then, put the answer you get into practice.
